Experience in the Ötztal
Discover the awesome strength and power of water during your next Summer Vacation in Austria. While rafting in white water rapids, while traveling the river in a Canadian rubber dinghy, or while canyoning - your Vacation in the Ötztal will be a most memorable experience.
Rafting
Due to the natural land formation here in the Ötztal, you will find all levels of difficulty and style for water adventures. Beginning already at the age of 4, our young Pirates can experience the thrill of white water spray on a family rafting trip. The more mature sports adventurers can become acquainted with the white waters of the "Imster Schlucht", the most traveled river section in Europe, and continue on to enjoy the breath-taking Ötztaler Ache or the Samna. Rafting in the Ötztal: an experience - an adventure - an enriching encounter!
Canyoning
Traveling the ravines and canyons instead of the „normal“ Mountain Hiking is yet another exhilarating way to experience the mountain streams of the Ötztaler alpine world. The state-certified canyoning guide lowers the adventurous soul on a rope, free hanging, from a bridge into the gorge. You hike in knee-high water through the gorge up to the first waterslide, "sit down, arms crossed over chest, and down you go!" The many canyons, waterfalls, and mountain streams make the Ötztal a true Mecca for the canyoning sport. Due to the varied structures of the canyons, our guests can select from options with varying degrees of difficulty.
Paragliding
The tandem flight is the surest way to get acquainted with this indescribable experience. When tandem flying in the Ötztal, one enjoys a nearly weightless sensation as the ground drops away beneath the feet. Well known for it's optimal air thermals and breathtaking views from the Zugspitze to the Wildspitze, the Ötztal is favored by the "Masters of the Wind" far beyond its borders.
Kayak and Canoe Sport
For years, the Ötztal has been known as the Kayak Eldorado by insiders and true experts. For all slalom white water canoe fans, there is a professionally designed training and race run in Oetz. Canoe riders and canoe clubs have the opportunity to use the approximately 500 meters long run with 42 gates free of charge.
